NRM1 - a success story?
NRM1 was the first part of the NRM suite to be released in 2009. Two revisions followed the last one in 2021. Arguably, NRM1 is the most widely used and accepted NRM of the suite. NRM2 is still being fiercely resisted by many in the industry and professions while the uptake of NRM3, despite the calls for more emphasis on whole life costs, remains a step too far for most.
Overall NRM1 can be called a success as for the first time cost managers have a set of guidelines to follow when preparing and presenting cost plans.
